Daily touch (Mon–Sat) • Sunday deep quest
3rd grade lean • hands-on • winter indoor-friendly • preparing for summer projects
Daily Touch (20–30 minutes)
- App practice: 10–15 minutes (skill sharpening)
- Hands-on: 10–15 minutes (measurement, fractions, data table update)
Rule: apps are the warm-up, not the entire workout.
Sunday Deep Quest: Indoor Grow Lab
- Setup: paper towel sprout test (beans/lentils) + bottle “mini greenhouse” or cup planting
- Measure: height daily; water amounts; days-to-sprout
- Fractions: sprouted/total = fraction
- Graph: simple bar graph or line-by-day growth chart
Summer prep connection: we’re learning what grows well, what needs more water/light, and building a repeatable system.
Standards Footprint (Ohio Math)
- Fractions as part of a whole (3rd grade emphasis)
- Measurement (liquid volume, length/height)
- Data representation (simple graphs)
- Real-world problem solving
We can list exact standard codes later when you want the compliance page formalized.
